Appointment of District Chief Carl G. Pearson to the Board of Directors

TORONTO, ON – February 2, 2018 – The national Board of the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (the CVFSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of District Chief Carl G. Pearson to the Board of Directors. Mr. Pearson has been invited to represent the CVFSA in the role of Director for Ontario.

Mr. Pearson brings his extensive experience and qualifications to the organization. He is an active Volunteer Fire Officer, for the Corporation of the City of Thorold, with 15 years of service where he was promoted to District Chief on September 1, 2014. Carl has been employed for about 28 years by General Motors of Canada – St Catharines, Glendale Site as an in-plant emergency responder with the Fire/Security Department.  He has also served 8 years with the Fire Fighters’ Association of Ontario (FFAO) including the position of president of the
FFAO from 2010 to 2012.

Mr. Pearson assumes his new role immediately taking over from District Chief J. Dave Thomson who has served the national Board as a real professional for many years.
