Hailey Putnam – Recipient of the 2023 Donald McKee Memorial Scholarship

The Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (CVFSA) is pleased to announce the
recipient of the 2022 Donald McKee Memorial Scholarship will be Hailey Putnam of the
City of Quinte West, Ontario.
Established in 2017 to honour the late Donald McKee, one of the earliest board
members of the CVFSA. Don’s 13 years of dedication to the CVFSA by volunteering his
time, professionalism and expertise will never be forgotten.
Hailey has been accepted at Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri starting in the
fall of 2023. Hailey will pursue a degree in Sport Business Management.
Following her degree from Maryville University she plans to work as a sports marketing
manager or a social media manager for either a professional hockey or basketball team.
Hailey Putnam’s father; Derek Putnam, is a member of Quinte West Fire Department,
Station 3 in the City of Quinte West, Ontario.
The 2023 “Donald McKee Memorial Scholarship”© of $1,500 is given out annually,
based on the academic standing of the applicant and their involvement with school and
community.
