At this year’s Annual Conference and AGM, the CVFSA proudly awarded our ninth recipient with the prestigious CVFSA Lifetime Achievement Award.

Since 2010, the Association has chosen one recipient per year from across Canada to be awarded with this great honour. The Award is presented each year at the Annual Conference and AGM and the travel expenses of the recipient are covered by the Association.

The recipient receives a generous award package both for themselves as well as for the community in which they reside. In addition to the trophy, certificate, and travel package that is received by the recipient, the winner’s local fire department receives fire service equipment as part of the award. Finally, the recipient’s community is awarded First Alert fire alarms and the local food bank is awarded a cheque to support their work, in honour of the winning recipient.

It is always a great honour to recognize our annual Lifetime Achievement Award. This year we acknowledge the outstanding contributions of Fire Chief Ron Heisler of the Qu’Appelle & District Fire Department in Saskatchewan. Accompanying Chief Heisler were about ten of his firefighters who made the trip to be with him as he received this honour.

Every community has special individuals that stand out and make notable contributions through service. We encourage you to consider who that might be in your community and to put their name forward. Submissions for the 2019 CVFSA Lifetime Achievement Award can be submitted now and up to May 2019 through our online submission form or you can download a PDF and mail in the application.
