Caelyn Parker – Recipient of the 2022 Donald McKee Memorial Scholarship©

The Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (CVFSA) is pleased to announce the recipient of the 2022 Donald McKee Memorial Scholarship will be Caelyn Parker of Berwick, Nova Scotia.

Established in 2017 to honour the late Donald McKee, one of the earliest board members of the CVFSA. Don’s 13 years of dedication to the CVFSA by volunteering his time, professionalism and expertise will never be forgotten.

Caelyn has been accepted at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS starting in the fall of 2022. Caelyn will pursue academic excellence, and volunteer with programs like
S.M.I.L.E (Sensory Motor Instructional Leadership Experience), and play hockey for the Acadia Women’s Team.

Following her degree from Acadia in Environmental and Sustainability Studies, she plans to go to Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS for two more degrees, a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies and a Masters of Architecture.

Caelyn Parker’s father; Shannon Parker, is a member of the Berwick and District Volunteer Fire Department in Nova Scotia.

The 2022 “Donald McKee Memorial Scholarship”© of $1,500 is given out annually, based on the academic standing of the applicant and their involvement with school and community.
